♥15 The Audacious Cakery [CLOSED]

The Audacious Cakery (Singapore. Everton Park)

-update 30 Oct 2015 : The Audacious Cakery has closed -  :(

Finally getting a holiday, decided to do some long-awaited cafe hopping.
Decided to go to Audacious Cakery @ Everton Park since it has been on my "to-try" list of cafes for a long time.

As it was a weekday afternoon and it was raining heavily, the cafe was very quiet. I was the only customer for most of my visit. The quietness of the cafe emphasised the nice homely and cosy English feel of the cafe. The soothing music playlist accompanied by the pattering rain outside also added to the nice relaxing atmosphere.

Presented with a lovely array of cakes and cupcake, it was almost impossible to decide which one to try!
The staff was really patient and answered my questions about the taste of the cupcakes

Raspberry and devil's foodcake cupcake $3.50
Finally decided on this cupcake after much deliberation (:
The chocolate base of the cupcake was quite ordinary but more importantly, it was moist. Definitely a
good thing as I'm not a fan of dry/crumbly cupcakes.
The raspberry cream was creamy and not too sweet. On its own, the flavour of the cream was not very strong
but when eaten with the chocolate base the raspberry flavour comes out. Nice complement!

 Carrot cupcake $4
As it was still raining heavily, decided to stay a while longer and try another cupcake.
The carrot cake base on its own was a bit drier then the chocolate base cupcake. But similarly to the other cupcake, the carrot cake base and cream cheese topping complemented each other, resulting in a moister taste and a good combination of sweet (base) and salty (topping). The cream cheese had a nice sticky and chewy texture to it too - like melted cheese (:

♥ Loved
The English style decor,
The nice display of the cakes and cupcakes
The quiet atmosphere.

Around Singapore - not your regular souvenirs (:

Was walking around Mandarin gallery after lunch and spotted a shop selling all sorts of pretty things that seemed way out of my budget

Stumbled upon the sale corner at the front at the store and found this lovely souvenir!
Perfect as a gift for overseas friends (especially those who have tried and love kaya toast!)

Kaya toast set keychain $6 $3(50% discount!)
After discount this souvenir is a very resonably priced $3 ( cheaper than a real kaya toast set. haha)

The owner, a japanese lady, was really friendly and pleasant and gave me this free Merlion handkerchief
(kindly explaining that I just had to put in the water and it will become a regular handkerchief)

She also gave me a $10 discount coupon for their online shop and kept thanking me for shopping even though I only spent so little. Her shop assistant was really nice too so thumbs up for the good service!
